I was born in the “City of the Blues” Chicago at Cook County Hospital. As a child growing up in Chicago, I was introduced to a vast variety of local musicians, family and friends. The late night jam sessions were held around a Baby Grand Piano in our living room.

My talent was a gift from God and an inheritance from my grandfather, mother and a host of uncles. Formal vocal training is attributed to the hard working relationship with Mrs. Eleanor Hays and my participation in the choir at the House of Prayer Church in Cassopolis, Mi.

According to my mother I started playing guitar at the age of 4. I would stand on the front porch and sing and play to passerbies or anyone who would stop to listen. But it wasn’t until I was about 15 years old that I started playing in earnest and formed my first band called “Q Ball”.

Sense that time I have been in a variety of bands playing everything from Country to Heavy Metal and everything in-between. I have shared the stage with such greats as Pinetop Perkins, Artie “Blues Boy” White, Duke Tumatoe, Southside Denny and Larry McCray.

Some of the influences in my quest to entertain are Stevie Wonder, Robert Cray, the Rev. Lee Broadnax, Chaquitta Bullison and my wife and companion for 22 years, Gayl Price.
